Un excelente referente en fotografía moderna desde Estados Unidos
Fotografía o ilustración, fue la pregunta que nos surgió al ver el trabajo de JAMIE BALDRIDGE, y al leer un poco del artista llegó la respuesta… arte, sencillamente expresión artística a través de piezas bien logradas mezclando lenguajes y técnicas, ¿Cómo lo hace? Con paciencia, planificación, conocimiento, técnica y muy buenas ideas para contar. El proceso es, palabras más, palabras menos el siguiente: elabora un boceto de lo que quiere mostrar o representar y lo lleva a su estudio para la sesión fotográfica con modelos, lo que le queda faltando para completar la composición o el mensaje lo ajusta creando piezas y agregando objetos en Maya –si, el software que se usa para modelado-, luego de esto finaliza el proceso en Photoshop, agregando color, equilibrando la iluminación, acentuando zonas… en fin, dando los toques finales.
Ahora, vamos de nuevo a la pregunta inicial ¿ ilustración o fotografía? O mejor ¿ilustrador o fotógrafo? Photograph or illustration, was the question we came to see the work of JAMIE BALDRIDGE, and reading some of the artist came the answer … art simply artistic expression through pieces well achieved by mixing languages and techniques, how he does it? JAMIE BALDRIDGE studies combine theology, literature and photography, a combination that explains a bit that way he haves to draw stories of solitary individuals and persecuted by an inevitable fate that represented different elements and that somehow is a critique of society and his current quest to become saturated with artifacts, an almost suicidal way.
